It is highly relaible but it only has one size of replaceable magazines (100 foot) but it is easily loadable with daylight spools. The dual pin registered pin movement locks the film but you have to be careful about using the variable at low angles. At 5° any slight change in the angle causes fluctuations in the exposure. But it doesa a great job, just keep the shutter open greater that about 18°.
