This page shows some smaller camera rockets projects that are not worthy of a page on their own. For one reason or another these camera rockets flew only a few times and/or very few pictures came from the flight.
My first camera rocket was built in 1988 when I was living in Florida. It was built from a modified LOC Ultimate (I changed the fin design) and the camera was the Minolta Freedom 100. I was very new to High Power Rocketry and had trouble with the clustering. The camera landed in a pond but after removing the battery and drying it out it was ready for another flight.
This rocket was flown only once at Turkeyshoot in 1995. It had a super 8 mm movie camera on board but failed to work. The booster was the same one used for Eagles Eye. I firmly believe in recycling rocket parts.
This camera rocket was my only attempt at doing a video camera and also was never named (or I cant remember the name) and was flown at a Danville launch in 1989. It had a Zenith video camera on board. The first time it was flown the camera was never activated and the second time it was flown it was lost in a Florida swamp! Its unique design is that the camera looked down through the reducer of the payload section. No mirrors were required.
